Easy Frozen Banana Treat

These Frozen Banana Treats are so easy to make and so tasty! It comes together in less than 15 minutes and sits in the freezer for about 1-2 hours to chill which allows the chocolate to set. Furthermore, the chilled bananas are so refreshing, especially during those warmer days, and provides a balanced sweetness to this recipe.  Additionally, the crushed walnuts bring some texture along with some flavor and nutrients. They all just pair so nicely together.

 

List of Ingredients:

   

ripe banana, creamy unsalted peanut butter, melted mini semi-sweet chocolate chips, finely crushed walnuts.

Step-By-Step Instructions:

   

Peel the skin off of the banana. Cut the banana in half. Then, cut that half in halves once more.

 

Transfer the bananas to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Spread the creamy peanut butter and top it with the crushed walnuts.

To melt the chocolate, add 1/4 cup of mini-semi sweet chocolate chips to a small heat-safe glass bowl.

   

Microwave for 30 seconds, remove, mix with spoon.

   

Microwave for another 30 seconds, remove. At this point, the chocolate should start to melt as you continue to stir. The consistency we need is shown on the right.

 

Using a spoon, drizzle the chocolate over the bananas. It doesn’t need to be perfect, it will be delicious regardless 🙂 Transfer the baking sheet to the freezer and allow to set for 1-2 hours.

Remove from the freezer and enjoy.

Ingredients

  • 1 ripe banana

  • about 23 walnuts (finely diced or crushed) or peanuts, may leave it out
  • 1/4 cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Peel the skin off of the banana.
  2. Cut the banana into quarters and transfer them to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. Spread some creamy peanut butter over the bananas.
  4. Top them with some finely diced or crushed walnuts.
  5. To melt the chocolate: Add 1/4 cup of mini semi-sweet chocolate chips to a small heat-safe glass bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds, remove and mix with a spoon. Then, microwave for another 30 seconds, remove and mix with the spoon once more. At this point, the chocolate should start to melt as you continue to stir.
  6. Drizzle chocolate over the bananas.
  7. Transfer the baking sheet to the freezer and allow the chocolate to set and the bananas to chill for about 1-2 hours.
  8. Remove from the freezer and enjoy.

Notes

Walnuts are considered a choking hazard for children under the age of 5.
