Chocolate Blueberry Yogurt Bites

With only 4-ingredients, these yogurt bites are easy to make and tasty. I have added some pure maple syrup to help provide some sweetness to the yogurt. Additionally, I have swirled in some melted chocolate for extra flavor and topped it with my kids’ favor berry- the blueberry, but any fruit will work. My kids enjoy snacking on these and especially love the fun shapes that are created from the silicone molds.

Note: blueberries are considered a choking hazard for children under the age of 5. Blueberries should to halved, smashed, or quartered. May also leave the blueberries out or replace them with a different fruit.

Melting the Chocolate:

To melt the chocolate, add 1/4 cup of mini-semi sweet chocolate chips to a small heat-safe glass bowl.

Microwave for 30 seconds, remove, mix with spoon.

Microwave for another 30 seconds, remove. At this point, the chocolate should start to melt as you continue to stir. The consistency we need is shown on the right. If needed, microwave for a few more seconds.

A tasty and easy snack that everyone can enjoy. I used a fun Disney themed silicone mold here but any silicone mold should work

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 1/2 or 2 tablespoons maple syrup, add as much or as little as you’d like
  • Blueberries, smash, half, or quarter for children under the age of 5
  • 1/4 cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips, I used Enjoy LIfe Foods

Instructions

  1. Add 1/4 cup of mini semi-sweet chocolate chips to a small heat-safe glass bowl.
  2. Microwave for 30 seconds, remove, mix with spoon, microwave for another 30 seconds, remove. At this point, the chocolate should start to melt as you continue to stir. If needed, microwave for a few more seconds.
  3. Set the chocolate aside.
  4. Add the yogurt to a bowl along with the maple syrup. Mix to combine.
  5. ⚠️ Blueberries are considered a choking hazard for children under the age of 5. Smash, quarter or halve blueberries for younger children
  6. Spoon yogurt into silicone mold or muffin pan lined with baking cup paper liners. Drizzle on some melted chocolate and swirl it in. Top with blueberries and lightly push them down.
  7. Freeze for 3 hours or until set.
  8. The yogurt tends to melt quickly when at room temperature. Keep in freezer until ready to serve. If it’s been stored in the freezer for more than 24 hours, allow to sit at room temperature for a little bit before serving.

Notes

  • May keep the yogurt bites inside molds or transfer them to freezer-safe containers and store in the freezer.
